WHY YOU SHOULDN’T LEAVE YOUR JOB
We recently spoke to a candidate that was talking about how much they really enjoyed their job. They mentioned how they had a great team, and the work they were doing was really exciting. But since a lot of people are currently making career changes, this candidate was feeling a sense of FOMO.
We say this all the time, but there is a huge abundance of roles going right now and not enough people to fill them. So it’s natural to feel like you don’t want to miss this chance of getting a new title or a bump in salary.
Yes, we’re a bunch of recruiters. Yes, it may sound silly that we of all people are recommending staying put, but at the end of the day you need to think long term. Right now it may feel flattering and empowering to know that you are in demand, but we don’t know how long it’s going to last. Leaving a great job for a small bump in salary is a risky long-term play.
“Do not leave your Job” were the exact words we said to that candidate. If you’ve got a role that you love, don’t leave it for the wrong reasons.
