Integrity over profits
Last week, our Sydney General Manager Dave Bramley put out a message that we stand by.
He talked about the importance of not giving up your integrity when on the job and that it’s okay to walk away from a client who isn’t values aligned. Money isn’t everything.
Dave was briefed on three new roles by the potential client, and while there were a few things they weren’t aligned on, there was one comment in particular that didn’t sit well with him.
“I was speaking with the client, and he started telling me about a candidate they’d interviewed recently who’d just become a new dad. They said he asked for three days per week to work from home.
“What the f*ck is he going to get done with a one-month-old at home?”
I’m a father of two. I know the challenges that having kids at home can bring. I also know how to structure my day so that I get the most out of it.
I couldn’t put candidates into a company like this knowing they had these views in good conscience.”
